Back Assessments

I have two “levels” of back assessment. the standard assessment and My new back pain assessment using the advanced vimove sensors and software.

Standard Back Assessment

The standard manual back assessment is performed as part nearly every new patient treatment appointment I do.  This includes

  • Palpating how you and your muscles feel. I’m also looking at your skin temperature and texture
  • Look at how you stand; what your standing posture looks like. I’m looking to assess any curves or bends in your spine to try and work out if they’re related to your current problem and if anything needs to be done.
  • Looking at anatomical levels ie, Is one shoulder higher than the other or how does your pelvis sit.
  • I also look at how you move and where you appear to be stiff, or where and which movements cause pain.

Advanced ViMove Sensor Back Assessment.

The ViMove Back Assessment is a movement exam and assessment of your back using The highly accurate ViMove sensors.

Before I do the ViMove Assessment the initial part of the exam is similar to the standard one with

  • I also look at how you move and where you appear to be stiff, or where and which movements cause pain, but importantly the ViMove sensors are attached which give far more information.

These sensors have proved their validity and value in industrial situations and in worldwide top level sports teams and on individuals.

ViMove sensors and software provide highly accurate, actionable data that I can use to get precise data on where and how you move. This can help when prescribing treatment and rehab plans that are specific to you.
